LambLion is the duo Danka and Oliver Pigott, whose music and performance style is characterized by romance, theatrical playfulness and intoxicating chemistry.
Their stage shows are a throwback to the classic duets epitomized by the likes of Dolly and Kenny, Carter and Cash, or Sonny and Cher. In 2017, their video for “Double Meaning” was nominated for Best Music Video at the Toronto Independent Film Awards – TIFA. In 2018, they recorded two singles with producer Thomas McKay of Exeter Sound Studios.
Oliver has written hundreds of songs in his career, which have been featured on film and television. He has worked with industry luminaries like Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple), Doc McKinney (The Weeknd, Esthero) and Dean McTaggart (Wynonna Judd, Amanda Marshall). He also appeared as a contestant, alongside his brother, on the final season of Canadian Idol. Quick with an original phrase, Oliver’s known for the imagery he evokes with his lyrical twists and turns, sung with a soulful sound both reminiscent and unique. Currently, he is touring and recording with his bands The Celebration Army and LambLion.
Danka earned an Honours BFA in Theatre Arts from Drake University in the United States. She trained and performed in theatre in New York City and Chicago before returning to Toronto to serve as the Artistic Director of the Sterling Theatre Company. Danka is currently represented by Fountainhead Talent. When not acting, directing or making music in LambLion, Danka creates filmed content with her independent production company, PigPenProductions. Most recently, she created “The Big Deal”, a mockumentary about the music biz. She has directed music videos for Toronto indie bands, The Celebration Army and LambLion. In March 2017, the video she created for LambLion was nominated for best music video at TIFA – Toronto Independent Film Awards.
